hi Ane Camilla, great and nice article you had written about terpair riding here on this page… I am disabled due to back pain (a lot of work and heavy lifting over many, many years) and wondered a bit about price and deductibles and things like that for such an offer? Is there anything that I can get covered through NAV if I get a referral to it?

      Hey guys!

Therapy riding is a form of treatment that has its own right to reimbursement at Helfo. The GP must print out a requisition for therapy riding, done on the same form as for ordinary physiotherapy. This is delivered to the physiotherapist who conducts the Therapy Riding. Helfo covers part of the costs of the treatment, but as a rule you have to pay a small deductible in addition - this will vary from place to place.
Helfo also covers travel costs for the riding.

In special cases, NAV can cover the costs outside of the reimbursement part, but this will be an individual assessment between you and your supervisor on NAV opposite form of allowance etc.

Hope this answered your questions, you can also read more here; http://fysio.no/Forbundsforsiden/Organisasjon/Faggrupper/Ridefysioterapi/Vaart-fagfelt

      Good luck!
