Ganglion cyst in hand.
A ganglion cyst can occur in the hand on the upper side of the wrist, just below the carpal bones in the hand. It contains a soft material, but can feel hard (almost like cartilage) in palpation. It usually happens among younger adults, often after a trauma.
Ganglion cyst presentation
When examined, a characteristic swelling is seen in the area. It is normally not pressure cold, but can be troublesome for the person affected by this. For ganglion cyst on the upper wrist, treatment is normally not required. The cyst may disappear by itself, but in some cases where the cyst is considered sufficiently troublesome, some choose to have it removed surgically.
