Tests for De Quervains tenosynovitis:
A doctor or other primary contact (chiropractor or manual therapist) will first do a physical examination of the hand and wrist. Imaging (MRI or ultrasound) may be appropriate to confirm the diagnosis.
The primary contact will first observe, then feel the hand to see if it is pressure sores or similar - and then perform a special test called Finkelstein's test. If the latter is positive, there is a high probability that you have De Quervain's tenosynovitis.
