Risk factors for De Quervain's tenosynovitis include age, gender, pregnancy, whether you are caring for a baby, as well as jobs involving repetitive work with hands or wrists.
- Age: If you are between 30-50 years, you have the greatest chance of getting the De Quervains.
- Gender: Women are more predisposed to De Quervain's tenosynovitis than men.
- Pregnancy: The Quervains affect pregnant women more often than non-pregnant women.
- Baby care: If you have baby care, you have a greater risk due to lifting and the like.
- Jobs: Repetitive work with hands and wrists is a risk factor.
