6 Symptoms You Should Never Ignore

Some symptoms may indicate serious illness and fatal diagnoses. It is important to take such symptoms seriously, as they can prevent illness and death.

Here are 6 symptoms you must never ignore. Early diagnosis can help prevent and prevent symptoms from worsening.

1. Chest pain

When it comes to chest pain, it is always better to be on the safe side. All pain in the chest, especially if it occurs in combination with uncontrolled sweating, a stifling sensation, shortness of breath and nausea, should be evaluated by a medical professional - as soon as possible.

Pain or a tingling sensation in the chest can be a sign of heart disease or heart attack - especially if you feel it during activity or after you have been active. In other very serious cases, it can also be a sign that a blood clot has settled in the lung.

If you have pain in the chest or have a gripping, pressing feeling in the chest that persists for several minutes - or that comes and goes - then you should seek help. Never "be tough" and see if it "just goes over". When it comes to the heart, you take no chances. It should be said that fortunately, it is normally the muscles and joints that cause pain towards the chest - but it is important to rule out the more serious first.

2. Weakness of arms and legs

If you suddenly experience weakness and numbness in your arm, leg or face - then this may be a sign of a stroke. Especially if it is only on one side of the body. You may also have a stroke if you feel unable to stay upright, feel dizzy or have difficulty walking.

Seek help as soon as possible if you experience sudden visual impairment, severe headaches, confusion and / or have difficulty speaking or understanding words.

As long as you discover a stroke early, it is often reversible - but here it's all about time. If you suspect that you have a stroke, you should always call for an ambulance immediately - if you receive treatment within 4 hours of the first symptoms starting, you have a significantly lower risk of getting long-term injuries from the stroke.

Soreness and pain in the back of the calf

This may be a sign that you have a blood clot in your leg - also called deep vein thrombosis (DVT). This serious diagnosis can occur if you have poor blood vessel function and will typically occur after prolonged static sitting or after lying in bed for a long time.

If it is a blood clot, the pain will be worst when standing and walking. There may also be swelling and tenderness on touch. The calf will normally - due to the swelling - be larger than your other leg.

It is normal to feel sore after long walks and exercise - but if you also experience redness, swelling and heat development, then this should be examined by a doctor.

It is important to detect signs of blood clots early - before they possibly loosen and block your blood supply (stroke). If you have such pain then you should undergo blood tests and diagnostic ultrasound of your blood vessels. An examination is also to carry out Homan's test - which is positive if the pain gets worse when you bend your toes upwards.

4. Blood in the urine

There are several things that can cause blood in the urine when you urinate. If you also have pain in the flank and back pain, this can mean that you have kidney stones. A kidney stone is a collection of minerals that form in your kidneys and which pass through the urinary tract - if this gets stuck, this can cause very severe pain.

If you have blood in your urine and have a feeling that you need to urinate more often than usual, and that it burns when you urinate, this could mean that you have a severe bladder or kidney infection. If you also have a fever, consult a doctor as soon as possible.

If there is blood in the urine, but no pain or burning sensation, then this may be a sign of bladder or kidney cancer - so see a doctor if you experience this symptom. Remember that it is always better to go to the doctor once too much than once too little.

5. Breathing problems

Difficulty breathing and wheezing can be very serious.

This may be due, among other things, to asthma, lung disease, heart problems and severe allergies. Your doctor can examine you and find out why you are experiencing difficulty breathing and what is the best treatment for you further. Wheezing can also be caused by severe pneumonia or bronchitis. Are you coughing up yellow and green mucus? Do you have a fever? In that case, this may mean that your bronchitis is developing and that it is time to consult a doctor.

6. Suicidal thoughts

If you feel that life has no meaning or that you have nothing to live for, you should seek help. Talking to a professional therapist can help you see things differently and provide constructive advice. If you experience suicidal thoughts, you should visit the emergency room or contact your medical personnel.
