Subacute bacterial endocarditis (SBE)

Subacute bacterial endocarditis, often abbreviated SBE, is a form of endocarditis - ie an inflammation / inflammation of the inner heart layer. Subacute bacterial endocarditis often affects the heart valves. In some cases it has been seen that the disease can gradually worsen over a full year before it becomes fatal.

Symptoms of SBE

The most common symptoms of SBE are fever, fatigue, weakness and excessive sweating. With an untreated condition, the symptoms will gradually worsen as the bacterial infection gets worse. Other possible symptoms are heart failure, anorexia, weight loss, flu-like symptoms, enlarged spleen and heart sounds.
