6 Early Signs of Stomach Cancer

Here are 6 early signs of stomach cancer and stomach cancer that allow you to recognize the disease at an early stage and get the right treatment. An early diagnosis is very important in order to be able to make the right decisions in relation to treatment - and adjustments in everyday life (including in relation to dietary adjustment and immune-promoting measures). None of these signs alone means that you have stomach cancer, but if you experience more of the symptoms, we recommend that you contact your GP for a consultation.

Stomach and stomach cancer are the fifth most common form of cancer, yet it is the third most deadly. The majority of those who are diagnosed with stomach cancer are already in a stage of spread (metastasis) or are about to go into that stage. Metastasis is when the cancer spreads from the area it started in and goes on to another area - often through nearby lymph nodes. The symptoms of stomach cancer can be very subtle, difficult to detect, and that is precisely why we want to bring them to light - so that as many as possible are aware of them and have any symptoms examined by their GP before it is too late.

Stomach and stomach cancer kill too many people and more research should be focused on this type of cancer (and other cancers) - that's why we encourage you to Share this article in social mediaFeel free to like our Facebook page and say, "Yes to more cancer research". In this way, one can make the symptoms of this cancer more visible and ensure that funding for research on new methods of investigation and treatment is prioritized. We also recommend supporting the Cancer Society.

We know that the previous signs of stomach cancer can vary from person to person and thus point out that the following symptoms and clinical signs are a generalization - and that the article does not necessarily contain a complete list of possible symptoms that can be affected at an early stage of gastric cancer, but rather an attempt to show the most common symptoms. Feel free to use the comment field at the bottom of this article if you miss something - then we will do our best to add it.

1. Blood in the stool

Ulcer

Blood in the stool does not mean cancer of the stomach and stomach. This symptom can also occur in Ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease. But if you notice signs of blood in the stool, this is a sign that you should contact your GP immediately - and then be referred to a medical specialist. If the blood residue is darker, almost black, then it is more likely that it may be related to cancer symptoms - because this shows that the blood has been "digested" by enzymes in your stomach. But as mentioned, all such symptoms should be examined further by a medical specialist and they are the experts in this type of examination.

2. You get saturated very quickly

bloated

Let's say you were hungry when you sat down to eat, but even after just a few bites, you feel that your appetite disappears and that you have no particular desire for food anymore. Such an early feeling of satiety - especially if this is something you have never experienced before - may indicate that there are problems with the stomach and intestines, among other things, it can be an early symptom of stomach cancer.

3. Pain in the stomach and intestines

stomach ache

Yes, it is actually the case that stomach pain can be a sign of stomach cancer, but in the vast majority of cases, your stomach problems are due to something completely different - and something much more common. The pain of stomach cancer is often described as different - and as persistent and "gnawing". So it is not pain you have for a few hours or a day, and which then disappears - before you experience the same thing two weeks later. Characteristic pain in stomach cancer is often illustrated as a persistent background pain that sits in the middle of the abdomen.

4. Accidental weight loss

weight loss

This is an important and early sign of stomach cancer and other cancers. If you are losing a lot of weight without trying it out through increased exercise and a better diet, then you need to take this seriously and take this up with your GP. But it should also be said that accidental weight loss can occur in many other health diagnoses - such as type 1 diabetes, Addison's disease and Crohn's disease.

5. Acid rebound and heartburn

Sore throat

Heartburn, acid regurgitation and other common symptoms of an upset stomach and intestinal flora may be previous warnings of stomach cancer - but they are much more likely to come from other gastrointestinal diagnoses. If you are regularly bothered by such symptoms then it is recommended that you discuss it with your GP.

6. Diarrhea, bloating and constipation

stomach ache

It makes sense that a cancerous growth in your stomach can make you feel bloated and cause problems with your intestines - but it is not the case that these symptoms scream out that you have stomach cancer. However, if you regularly experience more of the symptoms on the list we have mentioned, we strongly recommend that you discuss this with your doctor.

So we hope you understand the importance of going to your GP if you experience such symptoms. It is better to go once too much to the GP than once too little.
